Equality Objectives

The Equality Act 2010 replaced all previous equality legislation such as the Race Relations Act, Disability Discrimination Act and Sex Discrimination Act.

At Oakington Manor Primary School we believe that children have a right to a quality education to achieve their potential regardless of their sex, race, disability, religion or belief and sexual orientation.

Our vision is clear as to the high standards of education that we demand for the pupils of Oakington Manor. Children get one chance at education. Only through good leadership, effective management, committed staff, governors, parents and pupils working together as a team can this be accomplished.

Our objectives are:

To promote spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils through the wider curriculum opportunities, with particular reference to equality,  diversity and community cohesion

To narrow the gaps between any underachievement or lack of progress for all children and any groups identified through data analysis

To set clear well embedded procedures for dealing and recording of incidents of prejudice, harassment, bullying and racism for staff and pupils

To  apply fairly and consistently recruitment and admission procedures
